5because, as the sufferings of the Christ do abound to us, so through the Christ doth abound also our comfort;
6and whether we be in tribulation, `it is' for your comfort and salvation, that is wrought in the enduring of the same sufferings that we also suffer; whether we are comforted, `it is' for your comfort and salvation;
7and our hope `is' stedfast for you, knowing that even as ye are partakers of the sufferings -- so also of the comfort.
8For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of our tribulation that happened to us in Asia, that we were exceedingly burdened above `our' power, so that we despaired even of life;
3and I wrote to you this same thing, that having come, I may not have sorrow from them of whom it behoved me to have joy, having confidence in you all, that my joy is of you all,
4for out of much tribulation and pressure of heart I wrote to you through many tears, not that ye might be made sorry, but that ye might know the love that I have more abundantly toward you.
7and not only in his presence, but also in the comfort with which he was comforted over you, declaring to us your longing desire, your lamentation, your zeal for me, so that the more I did rejoice,

12For our glorying is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we did conduct ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you;
7according as it is righteous for me to think this in behalf of you all, because of my having you in the heart, both in my bonds, and `in' the defence and confirmation of the good news, all of you being fellow-partakers with me of grace.
8For God is my witness, how I long for you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ,
24I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and do fill up the things lacking of the tribulations of the Christ in my flesh for his body, which is the assembly,
19for what `is' our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? are not even ye before our Lord Jesus Christ in his presence?
20for ye are our glory and joy.
17but if also I am poured forth upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and joy with you all,
18because of this do ye also rejoice and joy with me.
10wherefore I am well pleased in infirmities, in damages, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses -- for Christ; for whenever I am infirm, then I am powerful;
30the same conflict having, such as ye saw in me, and now hear of in me.
11Our mouth hath been open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart hath been enlarged!
2that I have great grief and unceasing pain in my heart --
13but, according as ye have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice ye, that also in the revelation of his glory ye may rejoice -- exulting;
4for even when we were with you, we said to you beforehand, that we are about to suffer tribulation, as also it did come to pass, and ye have known `it';
8on every side being in tribulation, but not straitened; perplexed, but not in despair;
20according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, and in all freedom, as always, also now Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death,
10The truth of Christ is in me, because this boasting shall not be stopped in regard to me in the regions of Achaia;
15not boasting of the things not measured, in other men's labours, and having hope -- your faith increasing -- in you to be enlarged, according to our line -- into abundance,
6and ye -- ye did become imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
7so that ye became patterns to all those believing in Macedonia and Achaia,
12and that is, that I may be comforted together among you, through the faith in one another, both yours and mine.
4always, in every supplication of mine for you all, with joy making the supplication,
10And I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at length ye flourished again in caring for me, for which also ye were caring, and lacked opportunity;
3And not only `so', but we also boast in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation doth work endurance;
1So then, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand ye in the Lord, beloved.
24the shewing therefore of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf, to them shew ye, even in the face of the assemblies.
