Then he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth: for everyone who steals shall be cut off according to it on this side; and everyone who swears shall be cut off according to it on that side.

What does the heat of this great anger mean? 25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: 26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given to them: 27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: 28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
• Ps 109:17-20 : 17 As he loved cursing, so let it come to him; as he did not delight in blessing, so let it be far from him. 18 As he clothed himself with cursing as with a garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. 19 Let it be to him as the garment that covers him, and as a belt with which he is girded continually. 20 Let this be the reward of my adversaries from the LORD, and of those who speak evil against my soul.
• Prov 3:33 : 33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked: but he blesses the dwelling of the just.
• Prov 29:24 : 24 Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own soul; he hears cursing, and does not reveal it.
• Prov 30:9 : 9 Lest I be full and deny You, and say, Who is the LORD? Or lest I be poor and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
• Ezek 17:13-16 : 13 And has taken of the king's seed and made a covenant with him, and has taken an oath from him: he has also taken the mighty of the land: 14 That the kingdom might be lowly, that it might not lift itself up, but by keeping his covenant it might stand. 15 But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Shall he prosper? Shall he escape who does such things? Or shall he break the covenant and be delivered? 16 As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
• Dan 9:11 : 11 Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even by departing, that they might not obey Your voice; therefore, the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.
• Hos 4:2 : 2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
• Jer 7:9 : 9 Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know;
• Jer 23:10 : 10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourns; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their power is not right.
