    15ሌዋውያንም የእግዚአብሔር ታቦትንና በአብሮው ያለውን የወርቅ ነገሮች የነበሩበትን ሳጥን ከሰረገላው አወርደው በዚያ ታላቅ ድንጋይ ላይ አኖሩ፤ የቤትሴሜስ ሰዎችም በዚያ ቀን ለእግዚአብሔር የሚቃጠል መሥዋዕትና ሌሎች መሥዋዕቶች አቀረቡ።

    16የፍልስጥናውያን አምስቱ አለቆችም ይህን ካዩ በዚያኑ ቀን ወደ ኤቅሮን ተመለሱ።

    17እነዚህም ፍልስጥናውያን ለእግዚአብሔር እንደ የበደል መሥዋዕት ያመለሱአቸው የወርቅ እብጠቶች ናቸው፤ ለአስዶድ አንድ፥ ለጋዛ አንድ፥ ለአስቀሎን አንድ፥ ለጋት አንድ፥ ለኤቅሮን አንድ።

    18እንዲሁም እንደ የፍልስጥናውያን አምስቱ አለቆች ከተሞች ቍጥር ሁሉ ለሚመስሉ የወርቅ አይጦች፤ ከተመሸረቱ ከተሞችና ከመንደሮች ሁሉ እስከ የአቤል ታላቅ ድንጋይ ድረስ፥ በዚያ የእግዚአብሔር ታቦትን አቁመው ነበር፤ ይህ ድንጋይም በቤትሴሜሳዊው በኢያሱ መስክ ውስጥ እስከ ዛሬ ድረስ አለ።

    19እግዚአብሔርም ስለሆነ በቤትሴሜስ ሰዎች ላይ መታ፥ ምክንያቱም ወደ የእግዚአብሔር ታቦት ውስጥ ተመልክተው ነበር፤ ከሕዝቡም አምሳ ሺህ እና ሰባ ሰዎችን መታ፤ እግዚአብሔር ከሕዝቡ ብዙዎችን በታላቅ መቅሠፍት ነቅቶ ስለ መታ ሕዝቡ አለቀሰ።

    20የቤትሴሜስ ሰዎችም አሉ፦ በዚህ ቅዱስ እግዚአብሔር አምላክ ፊት መቆም ማን ይችላል? ከእኛስ ይሄድ ዘንድ ወደ ማን እንልከው?

    21ከዚያም ወደ ቂርያት-ይዓሪም ለተወላጆቹ መልእክተኞችን ላኩ እንዲህም አሉ፦ ፍልስጥናውያን የእግዚአብሔርን ታቦት መልሰው አመጡት፤ ኑ ወርዳችሁ ወደ እናንተ ውሰዱት።

    10ስለዚህ የእግዚአብሔርን ታቦት ወደ ኤክሮን ላኩት። የእግዚአብሔር ታቦት ወደ ኤክሮን ሲደርስ ኤክሮናውያን ጮኹ እንዲህ ሲሉ፦ የእስራኤል አምላክ ታቦትን እኛንና ሕዝባችንን ለማጥፋት ወደ እኛ አመጡት!

    11ስለዚህ መልእክተኞችን ልከው የፍልስጥኤማውያንን አለቆች ሁሉ ሰበሰቡ፤ እንዲህም አሉ፦ የእስራኤል አምላክ ታቦት ወደ ራሱ ስፍራ እንዲመለስ ልኩት፤ እኛንና ሕዝባችንን እንዳይገድል፤ ምክንያቱም በመላው ከተማ ሞታማ ጥፋት ነበር፤ እዚያ የእግዚአብሔር እጅ እጅግ ከባድ ነበር።

    12ያልሞቱት ሰዎች ግን በእጢ ተመቱ፤ የከተማው ጩኸትም ወደ ሰማይ ደረሰ።
