David then answered and said to Ahimelech the Hittite and to Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, "Who will go down with me to Saul in the camp?" Abishai said, "I will go down with you."

2 So Saul arose and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, taking three thousand select men of Israel with him to search for David in the wilderness of Ziph.

12 Then David said, 'Will the leaders of Keilah hand me and my men over to Saul?' The LORD replied, 'They will hand you over.'
13 So David and his men, about six hundred in number, left Keilah and moved wherever they could go. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he stopped his pursuit.
11 The king sent for Ahimelech the priest, son of Ahitub, and his entire family, who were the priests at Nob, and they all came to the king.
12 Saul said, 'Listen now, son of Ahitub!' And he replied, 'Here I am, my lord.'

15 David said to Abner, "Aren't you a man? And who is like you in Israel? Why then have you not guarded your lord the king? Someone came to destroy your lord the king.
8 Now one of Saul’s servants was there that day, detained before the Lord; he was Doeg the Edomite, Saul’s chief shepherd.
23 Stay with me; don’t be afraid. The one who seeks my life is seeking yours as well. You will be safe with me.

8 David said to Achish, "But what have I done? What have you found in your servant from the day I first came to you until now, that I may not go and fight the enemies of my lord the king?"
37 David added, 'The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.' Saul said to David, 'Go, and may the LORD be with you.'
17 Saul recognized David’s voice and said, "Is that your voice, my son David?" David replied, "It is my voice, my lord the king."
18 And he added, "Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong is in my hand?
4 So David inquired of the LORD again, and the LORD answered him, "Arise, go down to Keilah, for I will give the Philistines into your hand."
