6But their request for a king displeased Samuel, and he prayed to the LORD.
7The LORD said to Samuel, 'Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you. It is not you they have rejected but they have rejected me as their king.
19The people refused to listen to Samuel and said, 'No! We want a king to rule over us.'
20Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us, govern us, and fight our battles.
21Samuel listened to all the words of the people and repeated them to the LORD.
22The LORD said to Samuel, 'Listen to them and appoint a king for them.' Then Samuel said to the people of Israel, 'Each of you, return to your own town.'
7The Philistines became afraid, saying, 'A god has come into the camp!' They exclaimed, 'Woe to us! Nothing like this has ever happened before!
8Woe to us! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with every kind of plague in the wilderness.
9Be strong and act like men, Philistines, or you will become slaves to the Hebrews as they were slaves to you. Be men and fight!
27And the Israelites inquired of the LORD (the Ark of the Covenant of God was there in those days),
47'And all those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle belongs to the LORD, and He will give you into our hands.'

15Samuel continued to judge Israel all the days of his life.
