    13But Jeroboam deployed an ambush to come from behind them, so Judah was in front and the ambushers were behind them.

    1In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.

    2He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Micaiah, the daughter of Uriel from Gibeah. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

    3Abijah went into battle with an army of valiant warriors, four hundred thousand chosen men, while Jeroboam arranged against him eight hundred thousand chosen men, mighty warriors.

    4Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, "Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel!"
