11 When Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went to his house. He had windows in his upstairs room that opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees to pray, giving thanks to his God, just as he had always done.

7 They answered again, saying, "Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will reveal its interpretation."
8 The king responded, "I am certain that you are trying to gain time because you see that my command is firm.
9 If you do not make the dream known to me, there is only one decree for you. You have agreed to speak false and corrupt words before me until the situation changes. Therefore, tell me the dream, so that I may know that you can reveal its interpretation."
12 Because he was found to have an extraordinary spirit, knowledge, intelligence, and the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve difficult problems, this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, can solve these mysteries. Now summon Daniel, and he will give the interpretation.
13 So Daniel was brought before the king, and the king said to him, 'Are you Daniel, one of the exiles from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?'

6 O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you. Here are the visions of my dream that I saw; interpret them for me.

16 I approached one of those standing there and asked him the truth about all this. So he told me and revealed the interpretation of these things.
22 He gave me understanding and said, 'Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding.
30 But as for me, this mystery has not been revealed to me because of any wisdom that I have more than anyone else, but so that the interpretation may be made known to the king and that you may understand the thoughts of your heart.

19 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night fasting. No diversions were brought to him, and he could not sleep.
