9 In the fifth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, a fast was proclaimed before the LORD for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah.
10 Then Baruch read from the scroll the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah son of Shaphan the secretary, which was in the upper court at the entrance of the New Gate of the LORD’s house, in the hearing of all the people.

12 he went down to the king’s palace, to the chamber of the secretary, where all the officials were sitting—Elishama the secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.
13 Then Micaiah told them everything he had heard Baruch read from the scroll to the people.
14 So all the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, "Bring the scroll from which you have read aloud to the people, and come." So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and went to them.
15 The officials said to him, "Please sit down and read it to us." So Baruch read it to them.
16 When they heard all the words, they turned to each other in fear and said to Baruch, "We must report all these words to the king."
17 Then they asked Baruch, "Tell us, how did you write all these words? Did Jeremiah dictate to you?"
18 Baruch answered them, "Jeremiah dictated all these words to me, and I wrote them down with ink on the scroll."
19 The officials said to Baruch, "You and Jeremiah must hide, and don’t let anyone know where you are."
20 After they put the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the secretary, they went to the king in the courtyard and reported all these words to him.
21 The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll. Jehudi brought it from the chamber of Elishama the secretary and read it aloud to the king and all the officials standing by him.

27 After the king burned the scroll containing the words Baruch had written at Jeremiah’s dictation, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
28 "Take another scroll and write on it all the original words that were on the first scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah burned.
32 Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch son of Neriah, the scribe, who wrote on it at Jeremiah’s dictation all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many more similar words were added to them.
16 After I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD:
7 And the priests, the prophets, and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
5 Then the prophet Jeremiah responded to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people standing in the house of the LORD.
6 The prophet Jeremiah said, 'Amen! May the LORD do so! May the LORD fulfill the words you have prophesied by bringing back the articles of the LORD's house and all the exiles from Babylon to this place.'
7 Nevertheless, listen now to this word I am speaking in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people:
3 Rather, Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us to hand us over to the Chaldeans, to be killed or deported to Babylon.

6 the men, women, children, the king’s daughters, and all the people Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, along with Jeremiah the prophet and Baruch son of Neriah.
