  • 22And the answer will be: 'Because they abandoned the LORD, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them. That is why He has brought all this disaster upon them.'

  • 3When the troops returned to the camp, the elders of Israel said, 'Why has the Lord allowed us to be defeated today by the Philistines? Let us fetch the Ark of the Covenant from Shiloh so it can come among us and deliver us from the power of our enemies.'

  • 17Why, LORD, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance.

  • 21Future generations—your children who come after you and the foreigner who comes from a distant country—will see the calamities that have fallen on the land and the diseases with which the LORD has afflicted it.

  • 11So I rebuked the officials and asked, "Why is the house of God neglected?" Then I gathered them together and stationed them at their posts.

  • 21And who is like your people Israel, the one nation on earth whom God went out to redeem as his own people, to make a name for yourself through great and awesome deeds, driving out nations before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt?
