21 Finally, the opportune time came. On his birthday, Herod gave a banquet for his high officials, military commanders, and the leading men of Galilee.
22 When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, 'Ask me for whatever you want, and I will give it to you.'
23 And he promised her with an oath, 'Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.'

18 Then the king said to the woman, "Do not hide anything I ask you." The woman said, "Let my lord the king speak."
11 She said, "Let the king swear by the LORD your God that the avenger of blood will not continue to destroy and that they will not eliminate my son." The king said, "As surely as the LORD lives, not one hair of your son’s head will fall to the ground."
12 Then the woman said, "Please let your servant speak a word to my lord the king." He said, "Speak."
15 Now I have come to speak this word to my lord the king because the people have made me afraid. Your servant thought, 'I will speak to the king—perhaps the king will grant the request of his servant.
16 For the king will hear me and deliver me from the hand of the man who seeks to destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.'
