    12When Athaliah heard the sound of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people in the house of the Lord.

    13When Athaliah looked, she saw the king standing by his pillar at the entrance. The commanders and the trumpeters were with the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. The singers with their musical instruments were leading in songs of praise.     14She saw the king standing by the pillar as was the custom. The commanders and the trumpeters were with the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Athaliah tore her clothes and shouted, 'Treason! Treason!'

    15Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of hundreds, the officers of the army, 'Take her outside the ranks, and whoever follows her, put them to death by the sword.' For the priest had said, 'She must not be killed in the temple of the LORD.'

    21All the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet, for they had put Athaliah to death by the sword.

    1When Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed the entire royal family.

    2But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, and secretly rescued him from among the king's sons who were being put to death, along with his nurse, and hid him in a bedroom. So he was hidden from Athaliah, and he was not killed.

    3For six years, he stayed with her, hiding in the temple of the LORD, while Athaliah ruled over the land.

    4In the seventh year, Jehoiada sent for the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards and brought them to him at the temple of the LORD. He made a covenant with them, put them under oath in the temple of the LORD, and showed them the king's son.

    10When Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed the entire royal family of the house of Judah.

    11But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king and the sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being put to death. She placed him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because Jehoshabeath, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, was Ahaziah’s sister, she hid Joash from Athaliah so she could not kill him.
