The child is not dead but asleep.' 40 But they laughed at Him. After He put them all outside, He took the child's father, mother, and those with Him and went into the room where the child was lying. 41 Taking her by the hand, He said to her, 'Talitha koumi,' which means, 'Little girl, I say to you, get up.' 42 Immediately, the girl got up and began to walk around—she was twelve years old. Do not trouble the Teacher any longer." 50 But Jesus, hearing this, responded to him, "Do not be afraid. Just believe, and she will be saved." 51 When He arrived at the house, He did not allow anyone to enter with Him except Peter, James, John, and the child’s father and mother. 52 Everyone was weeping and mourning for her, but He said, "Stop weeping; she is not dead but asleep." 53 They laughed at Him, knowing that she had died. 54 But He took her by the hand and called out, "Child, arise!" 55 Her spirit returned, and she immediately stood up. They must wash their clothes, bathe in water, and will remain unclean until evening. 28 When she is cleansed from her discharge, she must count seven days, and after that she will be clean. 29 On the eighth day, she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 30 The priest is to offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering.
