Why didn’t you go home?' 11 Uriah said to David, 'The Ark, Israel, and Judah are staying in tents, and my lord Joab and the king’s servants are camped in the open field. How can I go to my house to eat and drink and lie with my wife? As surely as you live and as your soul lives, I will not do such a thing!' 12 Then David said to Uriah, 'Stay here one more day, and tomorrow I will send you back.' The king asked him, 'Why should he go with you?' 27 But Absalom pressed him, so he sent with him Amnon and the rest of the king's sons. 28 Absalom ordered his servants, saying, 'Watch when Amnon’s heart is cheerful from drinking wine, and when I say to you, "Strike Amnon down," then kill him.
