Therefore his servants said to him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin, and let her stand before the king and care for him, and let her lie in your arms, that my lord the king may gain warmth.

19 Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne, and had a seat set for the king's mother; and she sat at his right hand.
20 Then she said, I desire one small petition of you; please do not deny me. And the king said to her, Ask on, my mother, for I will not refuse you.
21 And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as his wife.
22 And King Solomon answered and said to his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother—for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

3 And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, under the custody of Hegai the king's eunuch, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given them.

14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and goes at your bidding, and is honorable in your house?
7 But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those that eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom your brother.
15 Now therefore the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, which my lord has spoken of, let him send to his servants:
