    2And Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near to my house; and I will give you a better vineyard for it; or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.

    3And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you.

    4And Ahab came into his house sullen and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said, I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers. And he lay down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

    5But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him, Why is your spirit so sad, that you eat no bread?

    6And he said to her, Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him, Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it; and he answered, I will not give you my vineyard.

    7And Jezebel his wife said to him, Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry: I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

    8So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and the nobles who were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

    9And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:

    18Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to possess it.

    19And you shall speak to him, saying, Thus says the LORD, Have you killed, and also taken possession? And you shall speak to him, saying, Thus says the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick your blood, even yours.

    20And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he answered, I have found you: because you have sold yourself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

    25Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how, when I and you rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD uttered this oracle against him;

    26Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, says the LORD; and I will pay you back in this plot, says the LORD. Now, therefore, take and throw him into the plot of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

    27But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu pursued him, and said, Strike him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo and died there.

    7And the destruction of Ahaziah was ordained by God through visiting Joram, for when he came, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

    8And it happened that when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab and found the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers who ministered to Ahaziah, he killed them.
