15Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men.
9Now therefore listen to their voice: however, you shall solemnly warn them, and show them the manner of the king who shall reign over them.
10And Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who asked of him a king.
3Therefore, all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD, and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD through Samuel.
7And some of the Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was still in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
8And he waited seven days, according to the time that Samuel had appointed; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattered from him.
16Then Samuel said to Saul, Stay, and I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night. And he said to him, Speak on.
4And all Israel heard that Saul had struck a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel was in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together to Saul at Gilgal.
15So the king returned, and came to the Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to meet the king, to conduct the king over the Jordan.
10Then Saul said to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.
10And it came to pass, as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
11And Samuel said, What have you done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the appointed days, and that the Philistines gathered at Michmash,

19And all the people said to Samuel, Pray for your servants to the LORD your God, that we do not die: for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.
4And Samuel did what the LORD spoke, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Do you come peaceably?
19Nevertheless, the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, No, but we will have a king over us,
17And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, Behold the man who I spoke to you of! this same shall reign over my people.
18Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate and said, Tell me, I pray you, where the seer's house is.
21But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.
8And you shall go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice peace offerings: seven days you shall wait, till I come to you, and show you what you shall do.
2And Samuel said, How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take a heifer with you, and say, I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.
36Saul said, "Let us go down after the Philistines by night and take spoil among them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man among them." They said, "Do whatever seems good to you." Then the priest said, "Let us draw near to God here."
46Then Saul stopped pursuing the Philistines, and the Philistines went to their own place.
5And behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field, and Saul said, "What troubles the people, that they weep?" And they told him the news of the men of Jabesh.
18Saul said to Ahijah, "Bring here the ark of God," for the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.
27And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand still a while, that I may show you the word of God.
4The Philistines assembled and camped in Shunem, and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they camped in Gilboa.
