Thus says the LORD of hosts, I remember what Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him on the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3 Now go and strike Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.
4 And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand foot soldiers, and ten thousand men of Judah.
5 And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and lay in wait in the valley.
6 And Saul said to the Kenites, Go, depart, get down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for you showed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
7 And Saul struck the Amalekites from Havilah until you come to Shur, which is opposite Egypt.
8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and were not willing to utterly destroy them: but everything that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
10 Then came the word of the LORD to Samuel, saying,
13 And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
14 And the LORD said to Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
14 And Samuel said, What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
16 Then Samuel said to Saul, Stay, and I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night. And he said to him, Speak on.
8 Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
48 He gathered an army, struck the Amalekites, and delivered Israel from those who plundered them.
16 For he said, Because the LORD has sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
18 Because you did not obey the voice of the LORD, nor execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the LORD has done this thing to you today.
20 And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall be that he perish forever.
43 And they smote the rest of the Amalekites that had escaped, and dwelt there to this day.

1 Then the LORD said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
13 And David said to him, To whom do you belong? and where are you from? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a place for himself, and has gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
