    8 And he said to me, Who are you? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.

    9 He said to me again, Stand, please, upon me, and kill me: for anguish has come upon me, because my life is still in me.

    10 So I stood upon him and killed him, because I was sure that he could not live after he had fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord.

    55 When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the commander of the army, Abner, whose son is this youth? Abner said, As your soul lives, O king, I do not know.

    56 The king said, Inquire whose son the young man is.

    57 When David returned from killing the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

    13 And Saul said to him, Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread, and a sword, and have enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?

    14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who is so faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and goes at your bidding, and is honorable in your house?

    17 And Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" And David said, "It is my voice, my lord, O king."

    18 And he said, "Why does my lord pursue after his servant? What have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?

    13 Then David went over to the other side and stood on the top of a hill a great distance away, a large space being between them.

    14 And David cried out to the people and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, "Do you not answer, Abner?" Then Abner answered and said, "Who are you that cries to the king?"

    15 And David said to Abner, "Are you not a valiant man? And who is like you in Israel? Why then have you not kept watch over your lord the king? For there came one of the people in to destroy the king your lord."

  • 18 Then one of the servants answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty valiant man, a man of war, prudent in speech, a handsome person, and the LORD is with him.

  • 26 David spoke to the men standing by him, asking, What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?

  • 17 The LORD has done to you as he spoke by me: for the LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.

  • 7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray you, bring me here the ephod. And Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

  • 18 And the LORD sent you on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.

  • 9 And David said to Saul, Why do you listen to men's words, saying, Behold, David seeks your harm?

  • 30 And it came to pass, while they were on the way, that news came to David, saying, Absalom has slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of them left.
