Then Uzziah was angry, and he held a censer in his hand to burn incense. While he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead in the presence of the priests in the house of the LORD, beside the incense altar.
Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and he was leprous on his forehead. So they hurried him out of there. Indeed, he also hurried to leave, because the LORD had struck him.
King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He lived in a separate house, being a leper, for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. Jotham his son was in charge of the palace, governing the people of the land.
Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, from first to last, were written by the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz.
So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in a field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, "He is a leper." And Jotham his son reigned in his place.
