For Ahaz took a portion out of the house of the LORD, and out of the house of the king, and of the leaders, and gave it to the king of Assyria, but he did not help him.

22 And in the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against the LORD, this is that King Ahaz.

7 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am your servant and your son; come up and save me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.

9 The king of Assyria heeded him, for he went up against Damascus, captured it, and carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.
10 Then king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria and saw an altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the design of the altar and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.
11 Then Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus; so Urijah the priest made it before king Ahaz came from Damascus.
12 And when the king came from Damascus, the king saw the altar; and the king approached the altar and offered on it.
17 And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the stands, removed the lavers from them, and took down the sea from the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stones.
18 He also removed the sabbath canopy they had built in the house, and the king's outer entry, from the house of the LORD for the king of Assyria.
19 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
14 And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, I have done wrong; withdraw from me. Whatever you impose on me, I will bear. So the king of Assyria imposed upon Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
15 Hezekiah gave him all the silver found in the house of the LORD and the treasuries of the king's house.
16 At that time Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the LORD and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
5 Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to wage war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome him.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
29 Thus says the king: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand.
30 Nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be handed over to the king of Assyria.
10 Moreover, the LORD spoke again to Ahaz, saying,
27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem, but they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel, and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
5 Therefore, the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria, and they struck him and carried away a great multitude as captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.
18 Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
15 Nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
3 Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him tribute.
11 Does not Hezekiah persuade you to give yourselves up to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
25 But Hezekiah did not repay the benefit done to him, for his heart was proud, therefore wrath was upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.
10 Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not your God, in whom you trust, deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them; and shall you be delivered?
3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yes, and made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD had cast out from before the children of Israel.

11 Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by utterly destroying them: and shall you be delivered?
18 Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants; and King Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt at Damascus, saying,
22 But if you say to me, We trust in the LORD our God, is it not he whose high places and altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and Jerusalem, You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
21 And the LORD sent an angel who destroyed all the mighty men of valor and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame on his face to his own land. And when he entered the house of his god, his own sons killed him with the sword there.
12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I test the LORD.
7 But if you say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not He whose high places and altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, You shall worship before this altar?
14 He also brought the bronze altar, which was before the LORD, from the front of the temple, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of the altar.
17 They invaded Judah, breached it, and carried away all the possessions found in the king's house, along with his sons and his wives, so there was not a son left to him except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
