And he said, "Which way shall we go up?" And he answered, "The way through the wilderness of Edom."

8 And when we passed by from our brethren, the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath and from Ezion-geber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
17 Please let us pass through your country. We will not pass through fields or vineyards, nor will we drink water from wells; we will go along the King's Highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territories."
18 But Edom said to him, "You shall not pass through my land, lest I come out against you with the sword."
19 So the children of Israel said to him, "We will go by the highway, and if I or my livestock drink any of your water, then I will pay for it; let me only pass through on foot, without doing anything else."
20 Then he said, "You shall not pass through." So Edom came out against them with many men and with a strong army.
21 Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him.

27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us.
26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him seven hundred men who drew swords to break through to the king of Edom; but they could not.
3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war.
19 And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which you saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.

28 And he said to them, Follow after me: for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and allowed not a man to pass over.
20 And it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came from the way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.
21 And when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, they gathered all who were able to put on armor, and stood at the border.
27 Let me pass through your land; I will go along by the highway, I will neither turn to the right hand nor to the left.
28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth-gilead.
29 (as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir and the Moabites who dwell in Ar did unto me) until I cross over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God gives us.
