Then Absalom said, If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with you?

33 So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.
36 And it came to pass, as soon as he had finished speaking, that behold, the king's sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept: and the king also and all his servants wept bitterly.
37 But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
38 So Absalom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there for three years.
39 And King David longed to go forth to Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, since he was dead.
23 So Joab arose and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.
24 And the king said, Let him return to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and did not see the king's face.
32 And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah, David's brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men, the king's sons; for only Amnon is dead: for by the command of Absalom this has been determined from the day he forced his sister Tamar.
33 Therefore let not my lord the king take the matter to his heart, thinking that all the king's sons are dead: for only Amnon is dead.
34 But Absalom fled. And the young man who kept the watch lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, many people were coming by way of the hillside behind him.
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this your kindness to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?
21 And the king said to Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.
33 And the king was deeply moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! If only I had died for you, O Absalom, my son, my son!
28 So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and did not see the king's face.

10 And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why do you not speak a word of bringing the king back?
24 Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.
9 And the king said to him, Go in peace. So he arose and went to Hebron.
5 Then Absalom said, Call Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear what he says likewise.
11 And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, who were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not anything.
16 And she said to him, There is no reason: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that you did to me. But he would not listen to her.
20 Whereas you came just yesterday, should I this day make you wander with us? seeing I go where I may, return, and take back your brethren: mercy and truth be with you.
29 And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king's servant, and me your servant, I saw a great commotion, but I did not know what it was.
14 And David said to all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword.
11 And when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her, and said to her, Come lie with me, my sister.
