    24Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

    25And Absalom made Amasa captain of the army instead of Joab: Amasa was the son of a man whose name was Ithra, an Israelite, who went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah, Joab's mother.

    26So Israel and Absalom camped in the land of Gilead.

    33So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.
