    9And Adonijah sacrificed sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is beside Enrogel, and called all his brothers, the king's sons, and all the men of Judah, the king's servants.

    10But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he did not call.

    11Therefore Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith reigns, and David our lord does not know it?

    12Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you advice, that you may save your own life, and the life of your son Solomon.

    13Go and approach King David, and say to him, Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your servant, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? Why then does Adonijah reign?

    14Behold, while you yet speak there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.

    45And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon, and they have come up from there rejoicing, so that the city is in an uproar. This is the noise you have heard.

    14He said moreover, I have something to say unto you. And she said, Speak on.

    15And he said, You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel had their eyes on me, that I should reign; however, the kingdom has turned and has become my brother's, for it was his from the Lord.
