32And they buried Abner in Hebron, and the king lifted up his voice and wept at the grave of Abner; and all the people wept.
33And the king lamented over Abner and said, Did Abner die as a fool dies?
34Your hands were not bound, nor your feet put into fetters. As a man falls before wicked men, so you fell. And all the people wept again over him.
9And the king said to him, Go in peace. So he arose and went to Hebron.

12And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make your league with me, and behold, my hand shall be with you, to bring about all Israel unto you.
4Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. So Joab went out and went throughout all Israel, and came back to Jerusalem.

8Then Abner was very angry for the words of Ishbosheth, and said, Am I a dog's head, that against Judah I show kindness this day unto the house of Saul your father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered you into the hand of David, that you charge me today with a fault concerning this woman?
9God do so to Abner, and more also, unless, as the LORD has sworn to David, even so I do to him;
1And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were weak, and all the Israelites were troubled.
5Moreover, you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner, and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his belt that was about his loins, and in his shoes on his feet.
17And there was a very fierce battle that day; and Abner was defeated, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.
14And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians had fled, they also fled before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.
3And I will bring back all the people to you: the man whom you seek is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.
33So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.
29Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, to send him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.
14And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise and compete before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.
