1These are now the leaders of their fathers' houses, and this is the genealogy of those who went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of King Artaxerxes.
13Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spoke and said to Daniel, "Are you that Daniel, who is one of the captives of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah?
1It pleased Darius to appoint over the kingdom one hundred and twenty princes, who should be over the whole kingdom;
2And over these, three presidents, of whom Daniel was first, so that the princes might give accounts to them, and the king should suffer no loss.
8Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be altered.
9Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
7Also King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem and had put them in the house of his gods;
8Even these did Cyrus king of Persia bring out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
1In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
6Now among these were, of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
7To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave to Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.
11Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
18Now at the end of the days, when the king had said they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them before Nebuchadnezzar.

28PERES: Your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

11There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar your father, the king, I say, your father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.
15And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.
6And in the reign of Ahasuerus, at the start of his reign, they wrote to him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.
3It also came in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, until the captivity of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
