10Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh, for childhood and youth are vanity.

10Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave where you go.
11I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.
12For man also does not know his time: as the fish that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in a snare, so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.
20All go to one place; all are of dust, and all turn to dust again.
6In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both will be equally good.
6Better is a handful with quietness than both hands full, with toil and vexation of spirit.
1For all this I considered in my heart, even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God. No one knows either love or hatred by all that is before them.
5The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hurries to its place where it arose.
13Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
22Who rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?
1I said in my heart, "Come now, I will test you with mirth; therefore enjoy pleasure." And behold, this also is vanity.
3This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yes, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that, they go to the dead.
9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
6Before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
4Again, I considered all the toil and every right work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
15So I commended joy, because a man has no better thing under the sun than to eat, drink, and be merry; for this will remain with him in his labor the days of his life, which God gives him under the sun.
11Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done and on the labor I had toiled to do; and behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
11For the stone shall cry out from the wall, and the beam from the timber shall answer it.
9The thing that has been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
14With kings and counselors of the earth, who built ruins for themselves;
