    15What shall we do to Queen Vashti according to law, because she has not performed the commandment of King Ahasuerus by the eunuchs?

    16And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, 'Queen Vashti has not only wronged the king but also all the princes and all the people who are in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus.

    16So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus into his royal house in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

    17And the king loved Esther more than all the women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

  • 14And gives occasions of speech against her, and brings up an evil name upon her, and says, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a virgin.

  • 15Now therefore I have come to speak of this thing to my lord the king, because the people have made me afraid: and your maidservant said, I will now speak to the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his maidservant.

  • 10Nevertheless Haman restrained himself, and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends and Zeresh, his wife.

  • 4And Esther answered, If it pleases the king, let the king and Haman come this day to the banquet that I have prepared for him.

  • 13And the woman said, Why then have you thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king speaks this thing as one who is at fault, in that the king does not bring home again his banished.

  • 5And the king's servants said to him, Look, Haman stands in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.

  • 4A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband, but she who causes shame is as rottenness in his bones.

  • 15Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai:

  • 1Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel and stood in the inner court of the king's house, opposite the king's house. And the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, opposite the gate of the house.
