7 You shall no longer give the people straw to make bricks as before: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
8 And the quota of bricks, which they made before, you shall lay upon them; you shall not diminish anything from it: for they are idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
9 Let more work be laid upon the men, so they may labor in it; and let them not regard lying words.
10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spoke to the people, saying, This is what Pharaoh says, I will not give you straw.
11 Go, get straw where you can find it: yet nothing of your work shall be diminished.
12 So the people scattered throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.

5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
15 how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers.
9 And Moses spoke so to the children of Israel: but they did not listen to Moses because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.
14 And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you shall say to him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:
