8 And a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which pertain to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
9 Then I went to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me.
6 Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the river, keep far from there:
7 Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.
8 Moreover I make a decree as to what you shall do for the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that from the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, expenses be given to these men, so that they are not hindered.
3 At the same time, Tatnai, governor on this side of the river, and Shetharboznai, and their companions, came to them and said, Who has commanded you to build this house and to finish this wall?
4 Then we said to them in this manner, What are the names of the men who are building this building?
9 Then I gave orders, and they cleansed the rooms; and I brought back into them the vessels of the house of God, along with the grain offerings and the frankincense.
30 So the priests and the Levites took charge of the silver, the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem to the house of our God.

5 And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, the rulers, and the people, that they might be registered by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who had come up at the first and found written in it,

24 Also we certify you, that concerning any of the priests and Levites, singers, gatekeepers, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.

1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and the Levites were appointed,
2 That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man and feared God above many.
11 This is the copy of the letter that they sent to him, even to Artaxerxes the king; Your servants the men on this side of the river, and at such a time.
