9And he heard concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come out to make war with you. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
10Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not your God, in whom you trust, deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them; and shall you be delivered?
5Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:
9After this, Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem (while he was besieging Lachish with all his forces), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah that were in Jerusalem, saying,
10Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, On what do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem?
11Does not Hezekiah persuade you to give yourselves up to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
10Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by utterly destroying them: and shall you be delivered?

19Rabshakeh said to them, Say now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: What confidence is this in which you trust?
20You say (but they are only vain words) I have counsel and strength for war. Now in whom do you trust, that you rebel against me?
37So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
33Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
26And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, so shall you say to him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which you have heard;
21And the LORD sent an angel who destroyed all the mighty men of valor and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame on his face to his own land. And when he entered the house of his god, his own sons killed him with the sword there.
22Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.
18But to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of the LORD, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, As for the words which you have heard;
10Have I now come up without the LORD against this land to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land and destroy it.
13In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them.
40Now, my God, I beseech you, let your eyes be open, and let your ears be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
5I say that your words are empty: I have counsel and strength for war. Now in whom do you trust, that you rebel against me?
6And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.
