7Yet he does not mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off not a few nations.
15For behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, says the LORD; and they shall come, and every one shall set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah.
7So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am your servant and your son; come up and save me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me.
11Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: An adversary shall be all around the land; he shall bring down your strength from you, and your palaces shall be plundered.
2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3Let us break their bonds apart, and cast away their cords from us.
15Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get to this treasurer, even to Shebna, who is over the house, and say,
5I will also break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from the house of Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir, says the LORD.
9Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say: Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in its midst, and the oppressed within it.
5Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to wage war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome him.
1Woe to those who are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, who are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
9Associate yourselves, O you people, and you shall be broken in pieces; and listen, all you of far countries: gird yourselves, and you shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and you shall be broken in pieces.
10Take counsel together, and it shall come to nothing; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

6For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation which marches through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwellingplaces that are not theirs.
12And the king arose in the night, and said to his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
2Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, 'Aha, she is broken, that was the gate of the peoples; she has turned to me; I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste.'
1Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops: he has laid siege against us; they shall strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.
12Therefore, it shall come to pass, that when the Lord has performed all his work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the proud heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
10Go up upon her walls, and destroy; but do not make a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD'S.
11In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old.
