5 Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and indeed, we bring into bondage our sons and daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are already in bondage; nor is it in our power to redeem them, for other men have our lands and vineyards.
18 And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he has commanded you:
19 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall never lack a man to stand before me forever.
2 Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3 Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
5 Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit.
6 Neither have we listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
13 But if you say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the LORD your God,
14 Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:
30 And that we would not give our daughters to the people of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons:
17 But we will certainly do whatever thing proceeds out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
29 God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an altar for burnt offerings, for grain offerings, or for sacrifices, besides the altar of the LORD our God that is before His tabernacle.
26 Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering nor for sacrifice,
18 We will not return to our houses until every man among the children of Israel has received his inheritance.
15 For we are strangers before You, and sojourners, as were all our fathers; our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding.
11 Since you tread upon the poor, and you take from him burdens of wheat: you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink wine of them.

37 And that we should bring the firstfruits of our dough, and our offerings, and the fruit of all kinds of trees, of wine and of oil, to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites, that the same Levites might have the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.
13 And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and look, they are torn: and these garments and our shoes have become old because of the very long journey.
28 For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, 'This captivity is long; build houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens and eat their fruit.'
20 And if you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:
6 Since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, I have not dwelt in any house, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
13 Therefore their goods shall become plunder, and their houses a desolation: they shall build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine from them.
16 Indeed, I also devoted myself to the work on this wall and did not buy any land. All my servants were gathered there for the work.
17 All this has come upon us; yet we have not forgotten You, nor have we dealt falsely in Your covenant.
