22 Then the men of Israel said to Gideon, Rule over us, both you, and your son, and your grandson also: for you have delivered us from the hand of Midian.
23 And Gideon said to them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.
31 Nevertheless, in Your great mercies, You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; for You are a gracious and merciful God.
9 O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.
13 For the people do not turn to him who strikes them, nor do they seek the LORD of hosts.

But You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, and did not forsake them.

6 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Sidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and did not serve Him.
7 And Gideon said, Therefore, when the LORD has delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
22 The children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they did not depart from them,
5 For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the LORD of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
