  • 8 Elisha Defeats an Army Now the king of Syria was at war with Israel. He consulted his advisers, who said,“Invade at such and such a place.”

  • 28 The prophet visited the king of Israel and said,“This is what the LORD has said:‘Because the Syrians said,“The LORD is a god of the mountains and not a god of the valleys,” I will deliver this entire huge army into to your control. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

  • 12 But they said,“You’re lying! Tell us what he said.” So he told them what he had said. He also related how he had said,“This is what the LORD has said,‘I have designated you as king over Israel.’”
