1The Journey from Kadesh Barnea to Moab Then we turned and set out toward the wilderness on the way to the Red Sea just as the LORD told me to do, detouring around Mount Seir for a long time.
2At this point the LORD said to me,
4Instruct these people as follows:‘You are about to cross the border of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who inhabit Seir. They will be afraid of you, so watch yourselves carefully.
5Do not be hostile toward them, because I am not giving you any of their land, not even a footprint, for I have given Mount Seir as an inheritance for Esau.
25Let me please cross over to see the good land on the other side of the Jordan River– this good hill country and the Lebanon!”
26But the LORD was angry at me because of you and would not listen to me. Instead, he said to me,“Enough of that! Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.
27Go up to the top of Pisgah and take a good look to the west, north, south, and east, for you will not be allowed to cross the Jordan.
40But as for you, turn back and head for the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.”
7The Northern Border of the Land“‘And this will be your northern border: From the Great Sea you will draw a line to Mount Hor;
8from Mount Hor you will draw a line to Lebo Hamath, and the direction of the border will be to Zedad.
9The border will continue to Ziphron, and its direction will be to Hazar Enan. This will be your northern border.
10The Eastern Border of the Land“‘For your eastern border you will draw a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham.
8So we turned away from our relatives the descendants of Esau, the inhabitants of Seir, turning from the route of the rift valley which comes up from Elat and Ezion Geber, and traveling the way of the wilderness of Moab.
19Then we left Horeb and passed through all that immense, forbidding wilderness that you saw on the way to the Amorite hill country as the LORD our God had commanded us to do, finally arriving at Kadesh Barnea.
20Then I said to you,“You have come to the Amorite hill country which the LORD our God is about to give us.
21Look, he has placed the land in front of you! Go up, take possession of it, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, said to do. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”
17the LORD said to me,
18“Today you are going to cross the border of Moab, that is, of Ar.
4and then the border will turn from the south to the Scorpion Ascent, continue to Zin, and then its direction will be from the south to Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and pass over to Azmon.
3extended south of the Scorpion Ascent, crossed to Zin, went up from the south to Kadesh Barnea, crossed to Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karka.
4But stay about three thousand feet behind it. Keep your distance so you can see which way you should go, for you have not traveled this way before.”

3You have not abandoned your fellow Israelites this entire time, right up to this very day. You have completed the task given you by the LORD your God.

49“Go up to this Abarim hill country, to Mount Nebo(which is in the land of Moab opposite Jericho) and look at the land of Canaan that I am giving to the Israelites as a possession.
30Go and tell them,‘Return to your tents!’
12Leadership Change Then the LORD said to Moses,“Go up this mountain of the Abarim range, and see the land I have given to the Israelites.
29just as the descendants of Esau who live at Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me, until I cross the Jordan to the land the LORD our God is giving us.”
29So we settled down in the valley opposite Beth Peor.
32Be careful, therefore, to do exactly what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn right or left!
11Then he said to me,“Get up, set out leading the people so they may go and possess the land I promised to give to their ancestors.”
18Now today you dare to turn back from following the LORD! You are rebelling today against the LORD; tomorrow he may break out in anger against the entire community of Israel.
15For if you turn away from following him, he will once again abandon them in the wilderness, and you will be the reason for their destruction.”

41But Moses said,“Why are you now transgressing the commandment of the LORD? It will not succeed!
18Then Israel went through the wilderness and bypassed the land of Edom and the land of Moab. They traveled east of the land of Moab and camped on the other side of the Arnon River; they did not go through Moabite territory(the Arnon was Moab’s border).
37As for me, the LORD was also angry with me on your account. He said,“You also will not be able to go there.
4Your territory will extend from the desert in the south to Lebanon in the north. It will extend all the way to the great River Euphrates in the east(including all of Syria) and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.
