9The Present Covenant Setting“Therefore, keep the terms of this covenant and obey them so that you may be successful in everything you do.

12Gather the people– men, women, and children, as well as the resident foreigners in your villages– so they may hear and thus learn about and fear the LORD your God and carefully obey all the words of this law.
13Then their children, who have not known this law, will also hear about and learn to fear the LORD your God for as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”
39Also, your infants, who you thought would die on the way, and your children, who as yet do not know good from bad, will go there; I will give them the land and they will possess it.
26Our children, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock will be there in the cities of Gilead,
27but your servants will cross over, every man armed for war, to do battle in the LORD’s presence, just as my lord says.”

14However, the women, little children, cattle, and anything else in the city– all its plunder– you may take for yourselves as spoil. You may take from your enemies the plunder that the LORD your God has given you.

31and in the wilderness, where you saw him carrying you along like a man carries his son. This he did everywhere you went until you came to this very place.”
14For the LORD your God walks about in the middle of your camp to deliver you and defeat your enemies for you. Therefore your camp should be holy, so that he does not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.

2Bear in mind today that I am not speaking to your children who have not personally experienced the judgments of the LORD your God, which revealed his greatness, strength, and power.
29Then the Levites(because they have no allotment or inheritance with you), the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows of your villages may come and eat their fill so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work you do.
23Now you are condemned to perpetual servitude as woodcutters and water carriers for the house of my God.”
11You shall rejoice before him– you, your son, your daughter, your male and female slaves, the Levites in your villages, the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows among you– in the place where the LORD chooses to locate his name.
13All the men of Judah were standing before the LORD, along with their infants, wives, and children.

21so that your days and those of your descendants may be extended in the land which the LORD promised to give to your ancestors, like the days of heaven itself.
11You will celebrate all the good things that the LORD your God has given you and your family, along with the Levites and the resident foreigners among you.
18and to all the infants, wives, sons, and daughters of the entire assembly listed in the genealogical records, for they faithfully consecrated themselves.
54The man among you who is by nature tender and sensitive will turn against his brother, his beloved wife, and his remaining children.
55He will withhold from all of them his children’s flesh that he is eating(since there is nothing else left), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
56Likewise, the most tender and delicate of your women, who would never think of putting even the sole of her foot on the ground because of her daintiness, will turn against her beloved husband, her sons and daughters,
57and will secretly eat her afterbirth and her newborn children(since she has nothing else), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
31But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, and they will enjoy the land that you have despised.
9Look, our fathers died violently and our sons, daughters, and wives were carried off because of this.
4for the LORD your God goes with you to fight on your behalf against your enemies to give you victory.”
3You saw everything the LORD your God did to all these nations on your behalf, for the LORD your God fights for you.
21He is the one you should praise; he is your God, the one who has done these great and awesome things for you that you have seen.
22The generation to come– your descendants who will rise up after you, as well as the foreigner who will come from distant places– will see the afflictions of that land and the illnesses that the LORD has brought on it.
33the one who would go before you on the way to find places for you to camp, appearing in a fire at night and in a cloud by day to show you the way you ought to go.
24So build cities for your descendants and pens for your sheep, but do what you have said you would do.”

15but with whoever stands with us here today before the LORD our God as well as those not with us here today.
