2“Moses my servant is dead. Get ready! Cross the Jordan River! Lead these people into the land which I am ready to hand over to them.
10So now, look, the LORD has preserved my life, just as he promised, these past forty-five years since the LORD spoke these words to Moses, during which Israel traveled through the wilderness. Now look, I am today eighty-five years old.
11Today I am still as strong as when Moses sent me out. I can fight and go about my daily activities with the same energy I had then.
25Let me please cross over to see the good land on the other side of the Jordan River– this good hill country and the Lebanon!”
26But the LORD was angry at me because of you and would not listen to me. Instead, he said to me,“Enough of that! Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.
27Go up to the top of Pisgah and take a good look to the west, north, south, and east, for you will not be allowed to cross the Jordan.
28Commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, because he will lead these people over and will enable them to inherit the land you will see.”
1The Lord Speaks to Joshua When Joshua was very old, the LORD told him,“You are very old, and a great deal of land remains to be conquered.
7Moses was 120 years old when he died, but his eye was not dull nor had his vitality departed.

50At the Border of Canaan The LORD spoke to Moses in the rift valley plains of Moab along the Jordan, across from Jericho. He said:
51“Speak to the Israelites and tell them,‘When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

29An Era Ends After all this Joshua son of Nun, the LORD’s servant, died at the age of one hundred ten.
7I was forty years old when Moses, the LORD’s servant, sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy on the land and I brought back to him an honest report.
48Instructions about Moses’ Death Then the LORD said to Moses that same day,
49“Go up to this Abarim hill country, to Mount Nebo(which is in the land of Moab opposite Jericho) and look at the land of Canaan that I am giving to the Israelites as a possession.
14“Look, today I am about to die. You know with all your heart and being that not even one of all the faithful promises the LORD your God made to you is left unfulfilled; every one was realized– not one promise is unfulfilled!
3So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the rift valley plains of Moab, along the Jordan River across from Jericho. They said,
18I declare to you this very day that you will certainly perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
52You will see the land before you, but you will not enter the land that I am giving to the Israelites.”
21So I will no longer remove before them any of the nations that Joshua left unconquered when he died,
16Appointed Officials The LORD said to Moses:
2Isaac said,“Since I am so old, I could die at any time.
31For you are about to cross the Jordan to possess the land the LORD your God is giving you, and you will possess and inhabit it.
1The Death of Moses Then Moses ascended from the rift valley plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the summit of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. The LORD showed him the whole land– Gilead to Dan,
12Leadership Change Then the LORD said to Moses,“Go up this mountain of the Abarim range, and see the land I have given to the Israelites.
42But the LORD told me:“Tell them this:‘Do not go up and fight, because I will not be with you and you will be defeated by your enemies.’”
21I also commanded Joshua at the same time,“You have seen everything the LORD your God did to these two kings; he will do the same to all the kingdoms where you are going.
16Then the LORD said to Moses,“You are about to die, and then these people will begin to prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land into which they are going. They will reject me and break my covenant that I have made with them.
29just as the descendants of Esau who live at Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me, until I cross the Jordan to the land the LORD our God is giving us.”
30But Hobab said to him,“I will not go, but I will go instead to my own land and to my kindred.”

18“Today you are going to cross the border of Moab, that is, of Ar.
