5therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Surely I have spoken in the fire of my zeal against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who with great joy and utter contempt have made my land their property and prey, because of its pasture.’
6“Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys,‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look, I have spoken in my zeal and in my anger, because you have endured the insults of the nations.
15I will no longer subject you to the nations’ insults; no longer will you bear the shame of the peoples, and no longer will you bereave your nation, declares the Sovereign LORD.’”
16The LORD’s message came to me:
30I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the produce of the fields, so that you will never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations.
31Then you will remember your evil behavior and your deeds which were not good; you will loathe yourselves on account of your sins and your abominable deeds.
32Understand that it is not for your sake I am about to act, declares the Sovereign LORD. Be ashamed and embarrassed by your behavior, O house of Israel.
26They will bear their shame for all their unfaithful acts against me, when they live securely on their land with no one to make them afraid.
6For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced with intense scorn over the land of Israel,
7take note, I have stretched out my hand against you, and I will hand you over as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and make you perish from the lands. I will destroy you; then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
14“I will make you desolate and an object of scorn among the nations around you, in the sight of everyone who passes by.
15You will be an object of scorn and taunting, a prime example of destruction among the nations around you when I execute judgments against you in anger and raging fury. I, the LORD, have spoken!
11In that day you will not be ashamed of all your rebelliousness against me, for then I will remove from your midst those who proudly boast, and you will never again be arrogant on my holy hill.
29I will prepare for them a healthy planting. They will no longer be victims of famine in the land and will no longer bear the insults of the nations.
30Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them, and that they are my people, the house of Israel, declares the Sovereign LORD.
8“‘But you, mountains of Israel, will grow your branches, and bear your fruit for my people Israel; for they will arrive soon.
54so that you may bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all you have done in consoling them.
13“‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because they are saying to you,“You are a devourer of men, and bereave your nation of children,”
36Then the nations which remain around you will know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruins and replanted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have spoken– and I will do it!’
21“I will display my majesty among the nations. All the nations will witness the judgment I have executed, and the power I have exhibited among them.
16You will be profaned within yourself in the sight of the nations; then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
10They will know that I am the LORD; my threats to bring this catastrophe on them were not empty.’
22“Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake that I am about to act, O house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy reputation which you profaned among the nations where you went.
23I will magnify my great name that has been profaned among the nations, that you have profaned among them. The nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I magnify myself among you in their sight.
16It will never again be Israel’s source of confidence, but a reminder of how they sinned by turning to Egypt for help. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.’”
11therefore, as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will deal with you according to your anger, and according to your envy, by which you acted spitefully against them. I will reveal myself to them when I judge you.
12Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all the insults you spoke against the mountains of Israel, saying,“They are desolate, they have been given to us for food.”
8“Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I– even I– am against you, and I will execute judgment among you while the nations watch.
22This is what the Sovereign LORD says:“Look I will raise my hand to the nations; I will raise my signal flag to the peoples. They will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders.
63Then you will remember, be ashamed, and remain silent because of your disgrace when I make atonement for all you have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.’”
40I will bring on you lasting shame and lasting disgrace which will never be forgotten!’”
14I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land a desolate waste from the wilderness to Riblah, in all the places where they live. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
27You will be convinced that I am in the midst of Israel. I am the LORD your God; there is no other. My people will never again be put to shame.
12Because they used to minister to them before their idols, and became a sinful obstacle to the house of Israel, consequently I have made a vow concerning them, declares the Sovereign LORD, that they will be responsible for their sin.
23The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile due to their iniquity, for they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies; all of them died by the sword.
11Therefore,” says the Sovereign LORD,“an enemy will encircle the land. He will take away your power; your fortresses will be looted.”
26So I will pull your skirt up over your face and expose you to shame like a disgraced adulteress!
27The king will mourn and the prince will be clothed with shuddering; the hands of the people of the land will tremble. Based on their behavior I will deal with them, and by their standard of justice I will judge them. Then they will know that I am the LORD!”
6Even the calf idol will be carried to Assyria, as tribute for the great king. Ephraim will be disgraced; Israel will be put to shame because of its wooden idol.
19“‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: As surely as I live, I will certainly repay him for despising my oath and breaking my covenant!
14This is what the Sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will turn you into a desolation.
15As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so will I deal with you– you will be desolate, Mount Seir, and all of Edom– all of it! Then they will know that I am the LORD.’”
58You must bear your punishment for your obscene conduct and your abominable practices, declares the LORD.
7I am about to bring foreigners against you, the most terrifying of nations. They will draw their swords against the grandeur made by your wisdom, and they will defile your splendor.
29Then they will know that I am the LORD when I turn the land into a desolate ruin because of all the abominable deeds they have committed.’
