20So the LORD said,“The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so blatant
21that I must go down and see if they are as wicked as the outcry suggests. If not, I want to know.”

17Then the LORD said,“Should I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?
7Keep your distance from a false charge– do not kill the innocent and the righteous, for I will not justify the wicked.

18who says to a king,‘Worthless man’ and to nobles,‘Wicked men,’

3Is it of any special benefit to the Almighty that you should be righteous, or is it any gain to him that you make your ways blameless?

4For this reason the law lacks power, and justice is never carried out. Indeed, the wicked intimidate the innocent. For this reason justice is perverted.
9Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself now from me. If you go to the left, then I’ll go to the right, but if you go to the right, then I’ll go to the left.”
7Call to mind now: Who, being innocent, ever perished? And where were upright people ever destroyed?
21“Very well,” he replied,“I will grant this request too and will not overthrow the town you mentioned.
3And do you think, whoever you are, when you judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself, that you will escape God’s judgment?
24The one who says to the guilty,“You are innocent,” peoples will curse him, and nations will denounce him.
32Listen from heaven and make a just decision about your servants’ claims. Condemn the guilty party, declare the other innocent, and give both of them what they deserve.
