So this is what the Sovereign LORD says:“Look, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry! Look, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty! Look, my servants will rejoice, but you will be humiliated!

  • 7Therefore they will now be the first to go into exile, and the religious banquets where they sprawl on couches will end.

  • 13Get dressed and lament, you priests! Wail, you who minister at the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you servants of my God, because no one brings grain offerings or drink offerings to the temple of your God anymore.

  • 14I will provide the priests with abundant provisions. My people will be filled to the full with the good things I provide.”

  • 16But you will become drunk with shame, not majesty. Now it is your turn to drink and expose your uncircumcised foreskin! The cup of wine in the LORD’s right hand is coming to you, and disgrace will replace your majestic glory!
