11 Today I am still as strong as when Moses sent me out. I can fight and go about my daily activities with the same energy I had then.
11 ‘Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years old and upward who came from Egypt will see the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
12 except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua son of Nun, for they followed the LORD wholeheartedly.’
36 The exception is Caleb son of Jephunneh; he will see it and I will give him and his descendants the territory on which he has walked, because he has wholeheartedly followed me.”
37 As for me, the LORD was also angry with me on your account. He said,“You also will not be able to go there.
24 Only my servant Caleb, because he had a different spirit and has followed me fully– I will bring him into the land where he had gone, and his descendants will possess it.
10 As for me, I stayed at the mountain as I did the first time, forty days and nights. The LORD listened to me that time as well and decided not to destroy you.
11 Then he said to me,“Get up, set out leading the people so they may go and possess the land I promised to give to their ancestors.”

9 When they went up to the Eshcol Valley and saw the land, they frustrated the intent of the Israelites so that they did not enter the land that the LORD had given them.
14 Now the length of time it took for us to go from Kadesh Barnea to the crossing of Wadi Zered was thirty-eight years, time for all the military men of that generation to die, just as the LORD had vowed to them.
41 Unsuccessful Conquest of Canaan Then you responded to me and admitted,“We have sinned against the LORD. We will now go up and fight as the LORD our God has told us to do.” So you each put on your battle gear and prepared to go up to the hill country.
42 But the LORD told me:“Tell them this:‘Do not go up and fight, because I will not be with you and you will be defeated by your enemies.’”
11 When we heard the news we lost our courage and no one could even breathe for fear of you. For the LORD your God is God in heaven above and on earth below!
19 Then we left Horeb and passed through all that immense, forbidding wilderness that you saw on the way to the Amorite hill country as the LORD our God had commanded us to do, finally arriving at Kadesh Barnea.
23 And when he sent you from Kadesh-Barnea and told you,“Go up and possess the land I have given you,” you rebelled against the LORD your God and would neither believe nor obey him.
28 What is going to happen to us? Our brothers have drained away our courage by describing people who are more numerous and taller than we are, and great cities whose defenses appear to be as high as heaven itself! Moreover, they said they saw Anakites there.”
29 So I responded to you,“Do not be terrified of them!
17 Just as we obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. But may the LORD your God be with you as he was with Moses!
61 May you demonstrate wholehearted devotion to the LORD our God by following his rules and obeying his commandments, as you are presently doing.”
5 No one will be able to resist you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not abandon you or leave you alone.
6 Be strong and brave! You must lead these people in the conquest of this land that I solemnly promised their ancestors I would hand over to them.

22 So all of you approached me and said,“Let’s send some men ahead of us to scout out the land and bring us back word as to how we should attack it and what the cities are like there.”
23 I thought this was a good idea, so I sent twelve men from among you, one from each tribe.

21 But the LORD became angry with me because of you and vowed that I would never cross the Jordan nor enter the good land that he is about to give you.
39 When Moses told these things to all the Israelites, the people mourned greatly.
9 I repeat, be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, for I, the LORD your God, am with you in all you do.”

31 But the men who had gone up with him said,“We are not able to go up against these people, because they are stronger than we are!”
28 He said to them,“Follow me, for the LORD is about to defeat your enemies, the Moabites!” They followed him, captured the fords of the Jordan River opposite Moab, and did not let anyone cross.
65 For the LORD had said of them,“They will surely die in the wilderness.” And there was not left a single man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
8 If the LORD delights in us, then he will bring us into this land and give it to us– a land that is flowing with milk and honey.
44 But they dared to go up to the crest of the hill, although neither the ark of the covenant of the LORD nor Moses departed from the camp.
