24They left and went up to the hill country, coming to the Eshcol Valley, which they scouted out.
25Then they took some of the produce of the land and carried it back down to us. They also brought a report to us, saying,“The land that the LORD our God is about to give us is good.”

37So Saul asked God,“Should I go down after the Philistines? Will you deliver them into the hand of Israel?” But he did not answer him that day.

20You imparted your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths; you provided water for their thirst.
24I will take nothing except compensation for what the young men have eaten. As for the share of the men who went with me– Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre– let them take their share.”
9For this is how I was commanded in the LORD’s message,‘Eat no food. Drink no water. And do not return by the way you came.’”
41But Moses said,“Why are you now transgressing the commandment of the LORD? It will not succeed!
42Do not go up, for the LORD is not among you, and you will be defeated before your enemies.
15You provided bread from heaven for them in their time of hunger, and you brought forth water from the rock for them in their time of thirst. You told them to enter in order to possess the land that you had sworn to give them.
16“But they– our ancestors– behaved presumptuously; they rebelled and did not obey your commandments.
44So he set it before them; they ate and had some left over, just as in the LORD’S message.
57Then they said,“We’ll call the girl and find out what she wants to do.”
14You must not say,‘No, we will not stay. Instead we will go and live in the land of Egypt where we will not face war, or hear the enemy’s trumpet calls, or starve for lack of food.’
7When you came to this place King Sihon of Heshbon and King Og of Bashan came out to make war and we defeated them.
18They willfully challenged God by asking for food to satisfy their appetite.
25They grumbled in their tents; they did not obey the LORD.
23Then the two men returned– they came down from the hills, crossed the river, came to Joshua son of Nun, and reported to him all they had discovered.
11But he did not lay a hand on the leaders of the Israelites, so they saw God, and they ate and they drank.
