9“‘As for the prophet, if he is made a fool by being deceived into speaking a prophetic word– I, the LORD, have made a fool of that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.

22So now, look, the LORD has placed a lying spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours, but the LORD has decreed disaster for you.”
9God’s People Are Spiritually Insensitive You will be shocked and amazed! You are totally blind! They are drunk, but not because of wine; they stagger, but not because of beer.
31The prophets prophesy lies. The priests exercise power by their own authority. And my people love to have it this way. But they will not be able to help you when the time of judgment comes!
10But you are the ones who will be forced to leave! For this land is not secure! Sin will thoroughly destroy it!

4Therefore, prophesy against them! Prophesy, son of man!”

19When such a person hears the words of this oath he secretly blesses himself and says,“I will have peace though I continue to walk with a stubborn spirit.” This will destroy the watered ground with the parched.
6They see delusion and their omens are a lie. They say,“the LORD declares,” though the LORD has not sent them; yet they expect their word to be confirmed.
7Have you not seen a false vision and announced a lying omen when you say,“the LORD declares,” although I myself never spoke?

9Oracles Against the False Prophets Here is what the LORD says concerning the false prophets: My heart and my mind are deeply disturbed. I tremble all over. I am like a drunk person, like a person who has had too much wine, because of the way the LORD and his holy word are being mistreated.
27Then the LORD said to me,“Tell them that the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel says,‘Drink this cup until you get drunk and vomit. Drink until you fall down and can’t get up. For I will send wars sweeping through you.’
28If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink it, tell them that the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says‘You most certainly must drink it!
9My hand will be against the prophets who see delusion and announce lying omens. They will not be included in the council of my people, nor be written in the registry of the house of Israel, nor enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.
