23The LORD of Heaven’s Armies says,‘In those days ten people from all languages and nations will grasp hold of– indeed, grab– the robe of one Jew and say,“Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’”
3The LORD says,‘I have returned to Zion and will live within Jerusalem. Now Jerusalem will be called“truthful city,”“mountain of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies,”“holy mountain.”’
11And people will settle there, and there will no longer be the threat of divine extermination– Jerusalem will dwell in security.
16The Oracle of Response“‘Therefore,’ this is what the LORD has said,‘I have become compassionate toward Jerusalem and will rebuild my temple in it,’ says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.‘Once more a surveyor’s measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.’

24The land of Judah will be inhabited by people who live in its towns as well as by farmers and shepherds with their flocks.
4Each will sit under his own grapevine or under his own fig tree without any fear. The LORD of Heaven’s Armies has decreed it.
12“I, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, say:‘This place will indeed lie in ruins. There will be no people or animals in it. But there will again be in it and in its towns sheepfolds where shepherds can rest their sheep.
15so, to the contrary, I have planned in these days to do good to Jerusalem and Judah– do not fear!
1The Sovereignty of the Lord A day of the LORD is about to come when your possessions will be divided as plunder in your midst.
2For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to wage war; the city will be taken, its houses plundered, and the women raped. Then half of the city will go into exile, but the remainder of the people will not be taken away.
4Willful Disregard of God Will Lead to Destruction The LORD said to me,“Tell them,‘The LORD says, Do people not get back up when they fall down? Do they not turn around when they go the wrong way?
8On that day the LORD himself will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like mighty David, and the dynasty of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.
10“I, the LORD, say:‘You and your people are saying about this place,“It lies in ruins. There are no people or animals in it.” That is true. The towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem will soon be desolate, uninhabited either by people or by animals. But happy sounds will again be heard in these places.
12you young men and young women, you elderly, along with you children!
3Those remaining in Zion, those left in Jerusalem, will be called“holy,” all in Jerusalem who are destined to live.
7I will transform the lame into the nucleus of a new nation, and those far off into a mighty nation. The LORD will reign over them on Mount Zion, from that day forward and forevermore.”
8As for you, watchtower for the flock, fortress of Daughter Zion– your former dominion will be restored, the sovereignty that belongs to Daughter Jerusalem.
1A Coming Leadership Crisis Look, the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies is about to remove from Jerusalem and Judah every source of security, including all the food and water,
2the mighty men and warriors, judges and prophets, omen readers and leaders,
13The LORD says,“At that time young women will dance and be glad. Young men and old men will rejoice. I will turn their grief into gladness. I will give them comfort and joy in place of their sorrow.
22Yet some survivors will be left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out. They will come out to you, and when you see their behavior and their deeds, you will be consoled about the catastrophe I have brought on Jerusalem– for everything I brought on it.
4They will rebuild the perpetual ruins and restore the places that were desolate; they will reestablish the ruined cities, the places that have been desolate since ancient times.
26For her young men will fall in her city squares. All her soldiers will be destroyed at that time,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
25If you do this, then the kings and princes who follow in David’s succession and ride in chariots or on horses will continue to enter through these gates, as well as their officials and the people of Judah and the citizens of Jerusalem. This city will always be filled with people.

10“Sing out and be happy, Zion my daughter! For look, I have come; I will settle in your midst,” says the LORD.
38Jerusalem Will Be Enlarged“Indeed a time is coming,” says the LORD,“when the city of Jerusalem will be rebuilt as my special city. It will be built from the Tower of Hananel westward to the Corner Gate.
30So her young men will fall in her city squares. All her soldiers will be destroyed at that time,” says the LORD.
18The Lord Will Restore Israel and Judah The LORD says,“I will restore the ruined houses of the descendants of Jacob. I will show compassion on their ruined homes. Every city will be rebuilt on its former ruins. Every fortified dwelling will occupy its traditional site.
17At that time the city of Jerusalem will be called the LORD’s throne. All nations will gather there in Jerusalem to honor the LORD’s name. They will no longer follow the stubborn inclinations of their own evil hearts.
4For I, the LORD God of Israel, have something more to say about the houses in this city and the royal buildings of Judah which have been torn down for defenses against the siege ramps and military incursions of the Babylonians:
2Many nations will come, saying,“Come on! Let’s go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of Jacob’s God, so he can teach us his ways and we can live by his laws.” For instruction will proceed from Zion, the LORD’s message from Jerusalem.
8Moreover, the LORD’s message came to me as follows:
10י(Yod) The elders of Daughter Zion sit on the ground in silence. They have thrown dirt on their heads; They have dressed in sackcloth. Jerusalem’s young women stare down at the ground.
13On that day there will be great confusion from the LORD among them; they will seize each other and attack one another violently.
21Indeed, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel has already spoken about the valuable articles that are left in the LORD’s temple, in the royal palace of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
