  • 2 Pet 2:1-9 : 1 But there were false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who secretly will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their pernicious ways; by whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And through covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; their judgment is long overdue, and their destruction does not slumber. 4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 And did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 And turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemning them with an overthrow, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 And delivered righteous Lot, who was distressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked: 8 For that righteous man, dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds. 9 The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment; 10 And especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed, and not afraid to speak evil of dignities. 11 Whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a slanderous accusation against them before the Lord. 12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption; 13 And will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, reveling in their own deceptions while they banquet with you; 14 Having eyes full of adultery and unable to cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices and are accursed children. 15 They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity; the dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, to whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through wantonness, those who have barely escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a man is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "The dog returns to his own vomit," and "the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

And I beheld, and lo, a black horse; and he who sat on him had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see that you do not harm the oil and the wine. 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse: and his name who sat on him was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given unto them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto each of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest for a little while, until their fellow servants and their brethren, who should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. 12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs when she is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand?
  • Rev 22:1-9 : 1 And he showed me a pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him. 4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no lamp, nor light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign forever and ever. 6 And he said to me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he who keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 8 And I, John, saw these things and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, See that you do not do it: for I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the sayings of this book: worship God. 10 And he said to me, Do not seal the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He who is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he who is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he who is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he who is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and sexually immoral, and murderers, and idolaters, and whoever loves and makes a lie. 16 I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify to every man who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man adds to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He who testifies to these things says, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
