ኣብ ዘመነ ዳዊት ሶስት ዓመታት ረሃብ ነበረ፤ ዓመት ካብ ዓመት ይድገመ ነበር። ዳዊት እግዚኣብሔርን ሓተተ፤ እግዚኣብሔር መለሰለት፡ እዚ ስለ ሳኦልን ስለ ናይ ደም ቤተሰቡ እዩ፣ ጊብዖናውያን እንተ ገደላቶም ስለዚ እዩ ኢሎ።

    4ጊብዖናውያን እንተ መለሱለት፡ ካብ ሳኦል ወይ ካብ ቤተሰቡ ብር ወይ ወርቂ ኣይንፈልጥን፤ ስለ እና ኣብ እስራኤል ሰብ ክትግደል ኣብዚ ጉዳይ ኣይንስተውን። ንጉሥ ግን እንተ በለ፡ እቲ ብትብሉ ዝብሉ ክግበርልኩም እየ።

    5እነርሱ ንንጉሥ መለሱለት፡ ንሕና ዝበጥሓናን እና ካብ ድንበሮ እስራኤል እንኳ ንኣትሩ ክንብር እንተ ዘይትረፈ ንምጥፋእ ዕቅድ ዝወሰነ ሰብ—

    6ካብ ወዲኡ ሰብዓት ረኺቡና፤ ኣብ ጊብዓ ሳኦል—እቲ እግዚኣብሔር ዘመረጸው—ኣብ ፊት እግዚኣብሔር ክንሰትዎም። ንጉሥ እንተ በለ፡ እርኣየ እንሃብካቶም በለ።
