  • 2 Chr 10:15-16 : 15 So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam son of Nebat. 16 When all Israel realized that the king had not listened to them, they responded to the king, saying, "What share do we have in David? What inheritance is there for us in the son of Jesse? Every man to your tents, Israel! Now take care of your own house, David!" So all the Israelites returned to their homes.
  • 2 Chr 25:7-9 : 7 But a man of God came to him and said, 'O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel—not with any of the people of Ephraim.' 8 Even if you go and fight courageously in battle, God will overthrow you before the enemy, for God has the power to help or to overthrow. 9 Amaziah asked the man of God, 'But what about the hundred talents I paid for these Israelite soldiers?' The man of God replied, 'The LORD can give you much more than that.' 10 So Amaziah dismissed the troops who had come to him from Ephraim and sent them home. They were furious with Judah and left in a rage.
  • 2 Chr 28:8-9 : 8 The Israelites took captive 200,000 people from their relatives—women, sons, and daughters. They also took a great amount of plunder and brought it to Samaria. 9 But a prophet of the LORD named Oded was there. He went out to meet the army as they arrived in Samaria and said to them, "Because the LORD, the God of your ancestors, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hands. But you have slain them in a rage that has reached up to heaven. 10 And now you intend to enslave the men and women of Judah and Jerusalem. But aren’t you also guilty of sins against the LORD your God? 11 Now listen to me! Send back your captives whom you have taken from your relatives, for the LORD’s fierce anger is against you. 12 Then some of the leaders of Ephraim—Azariah son of Jehohanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, Hezekiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai—stood up against those returning from the battle. 13 They said to them, "You must not bring the captives here, for we are already guilty before the LORD. Adding these captives will only increase our sins and guilt before God, for our guilt is already great, and His fierce anger is against Israel." 14 So the armed men released the captives and the plunder in the presence of the officials and the entire assembly. 15 The men who were designated by name took charge of the captives. They clothed all the naked among them using the plunder, giving them clothes and sandals, food and drink, and anointed them. They led all those who were weak on donkeys, brought them to their relatives in Jericho, the city of palm trees, and then returned to Samaria.

Ahijah was wearing a new cloak, and the two of them were alone in the field. 30 Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve pieces. 31 Then he said to Jeroboam, 'Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Behold, I am about to tear the kingdom out of Solomon’s hand and give you ten tribes.' 32 'But one tribe will remain for the sake of my servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.' 33 'For they have forsaken Me and worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh, the god of Moab, and Milcom, the god of the Ammonites. They have not walked in My ways, done what is right in My sight, or kept My statutes and judgments as David, his father, did.' 34 'However, I will not take the whole kingdom from him but will allow him to remain ruler all his life for the sake of my servant David, whom I chose and who kept My commands and statutes.' 35 'I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and give you ten tribes.' 36 'But to his son, I will give one tribe, so that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city I have chosen for Myself to put My name there.' 37 I will take you, and you will reign over all that your heart desires, and you will be king over Israel. 38 If you listen to all that I command you and walk in My ways, doing what is right in My eyes by keeping My statutes and commands, as My servant David did, then I will be with you. I will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.
