Then He placed His right hand on me and said, 'Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last, 18 'the living One. I was dead, but look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.' 19 Write down what you have seen, what is, and what will take place after this. 20 The mystery of the seven stars you saw in My right hand and the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
  • Rev 4:2-9 : 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and someone was seated on the throne. 3 The one seated there had an appearance like jasper and carnelian, and all around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four thrones, and upon these thrones sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments and wearing golden crowns on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne were seven blazing torches, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 Before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the middle of the throne and around it were four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature was like an ox, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and were covered with eyes all around, even under their wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come." 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 The twenty-four elders will fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They will cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and by your will they exist and were created."
