- Ruth 2:3-7 : 3 So she went out, entered a field, and began to glean behind the harvesters. By chance, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the family of Elimelech. 4 Just then, Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, "The LORD be with you!" They responded, "The LORD bless you!" 5 Boaz asked the servant who was in charge of the harvesters, "Whose young woman is this?" 6 The servant replied, "She is the young Moabite woman who returned with Naomi from the land of Moab. 7 "She asked, 'Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.' She came and has been working steadily from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter."
- Ruth 2:15-23 : 15 When she got up to glean, Boaz ordered his young men, "Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her. 16 Rather, pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to gather. Do not rebuke her." 17 So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. Then she beat out what she had gathered, and it amounted to about an ephah of barley. 18 She carried it back to town, and her mother-in-law saw how much she had gleaned. Ruth also brought out and gave Naomi what she had leftover after she had eaten her fill. 19 Her mother-in-law asked her, "Where did you glean today? Where did you work? Blessed be the man who noticed you." Then Ruth told her mother-in-law about the one at whose field she had worked. She said, "The man's name I worked with today is Boaz." 20 Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, "May he be blessed by the LORD, who has not stopped showing his kindness to the living and the dead." She added, "That man is a close relative of ours; he is one of our kinsman-redeemers." 21 Then Ruth the Moabite said, "He even told me, 'Stay close to my harvesters until they have finished all my harvest.'" 22 Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, "It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, so that you may not be harmed in another field." 23 So Ruth stayed close to the young women of Boaz to glean until the barley harvest and the wheat harvest were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.

- 2 Cor 9:5-9 : 5 So I considered it necessary to urge the brothers to go ahead to you and prepare in advance the generous gift you had promised, so that it may be ready as a blessing, and not as something given reluctantly. 6 Remember this: The one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each person should give as they have decided in their heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in every way, at all times, having all that you need, you may abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: 'He has scattered; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.' 10 Now the one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God. 12 For this ministry of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanksgiving to God.
